2015 Reunion Plans
HEAR YE! HEAR YE! HEAR YE!
OUR PRESIDENT, JARMAN J. KELSEY,
IS CALLING ALL MEMBERS TO THE 85th ANNUAL REUNION AND BUSINESS MEETING OF THE KELSEY KINDRED.
The 2015 Kelsey reunion will be held in the Groton, Connecticut area the weekend of September 11th to the 13th. We will be staying at The Groton Inn and Suites.
Friday 6 pm—9 pm:
Registration and Hospitality will be held in the Conference room at the Groton Inn. We will have light appetizers and drinks. There are many area places for dinner. Directions for all weekend events will be available along with items from our store. Our meeting will be held at 7 pm and a recap of the meeting will be discussed at the dinner on Saturday.
Saturday 9:00 am:
We will be meeting in the lobby for our excursion and tour to the Connecticut Coast Guard Academy. The tour will include a swing by the exchange for some purchases. We will have a bus to transport us and there may be a nominal fee for this depending on how many we have.
Saturday 12:00 noon:
Lunch will be on your own at Abbotts in the Rough. They are a lobster shack with picnic tables along the Mystic River in Noank, CT which is best known for their lobster rolls.
Saturday 1:30 pm:
In the afternoon we will be taking a boat ride to see the New London Ledge Lighthouse built in 1909. Come explore the unique architecture of one of Connecticut's jewels, listen to its history and the hauntings over the years. Participants will board the Enviro-lab and disembark at Ledge Light.
Cost for the day trip;
Adults $40.00
Children under 12 $30.00 .
If you are not interested in a boat trip, the Mystic Aquarium is a great alternative and close by.

Youth (13-17) $28.99
Children (3 - 12) $24.99; age 2 and under is free!
Our bus will do loops for drop offs and pickups as needed.
Saturday 6:30 pm:
Dinner is back at The Groton Inn and Suites. Group photos will be taken before dinner. We will have a catered buffet located in the Amber Banquet room. The meal will consist of a Tossed Salad, Stuffed Chicken, Salmon with Lemon Dill Sauce, Top Sirloin with Au Jus, Stuffed shells, Mashed Potatoes, Grilled seasonal vegetables, rolls and butter. Dessert will be a hot Apple Crisp.
The cost for the meal is
Adults $39.00
Children under 12 $14.00 for meal of chicken Nuggets and French fries.
Sunday 12:00 noon:
We will meet at Gillette's Castle Sate Park located in East Haddam for a picnic. It sits high above the CT River. Our lunch will consist of a make your own sandwich station with chips, fruit and assorted drinks.
Picnic lunch is $10.00. Bring your own lawn chair if you have one.
The castle will be open for self guided tours. While admission to the grounds are free, there is a charge of $6 for ages 13 and over and $2 for children ages 6 to 12 to tour the castle. If you have not toured the castle it is an amazing fieldstone building.
Jacqueline Kelsey the owner of a local restaurant called LaVita will offer a 20% discount to Kelsey Kindred members if you wish to stop there on your way home. Details and directions will be available Friday evening.

The rates are $94 plus 15% state room taxes. A complimentary hot breakfast is included with your room. Reservations can be made by calling 800-452-2191 and asking for the Kelsey Reunion rooms. Reservations must be made by August 10th at which time rooms will be released to the public and our special rate will be gone.
The hotel has two floors and no elevator, our rooms are on both floors. If you need a lower level room please make your reservations as soon as possible.
